Introductory Yoga for Children Ages 5-6

WHEN: Sundays, September 17 – October 22, 12:00 PM- 1:00 PM

WHAT: This 5 week workshop will teach yoga themes and encourage movement, fitness, self-calming, learning and focus. Children will develop confidence and practice concentration in this busy world. No special equipment or experience required. Kids should come dressed to move.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Lauren Moran is a licensed occupational therapist, certified in children’s yoga. She teaches yoga in local schools, and has taught children as young as age 3!

COST AND DETAILS: Members: $70 Non-Members: $85

*Attendees must pay in full at the time of registration. All costs & fees are non-refundable.
*Late sign-ups accepted at a pro-rated cost
*Parents must remain in the building during the workshop classes.

Starting Monday, January 9th, ALL Yoga and Pilates classes will be held across the street at 940 Haverford Road while we construct our new yoga studio

Location: 940 Haverford Road, First Floor

Parking: Please park at the temporary location. Haverford Road is extremely busy and we do not want members to have to cross the road

Members may sign in at the temporary space. All equipment, towels and water will be available

The space is large, quiet and tranquil, with lots of natural light. This will provide a better environment for our Yogis during the final phase of construction

We are extremely excited to announce that our new yoga studio will be open as of Monday, 2/20/2017. This completely re-imagined space will be a tranquil place for our members to practice yoga, as well as other forms of strength and fitness training. We hope to grow our strong yoga community through revised programming, special workshops and more in the months to come.

Tour de Cure will be held on June 3rd

WHAT: Join us to ride for the American Diabetes Association. Funds raised will go to support life-saving research, advocacy, and community outreach programs. Donations encouraged.
We will also be recruiting riders for the SCML Tour de Cure team. As part of the team, you will ride on June 3rd in one of the many offered rides: 3, 12, 35, 63 or 100 miles.

TOUR DE CURE SCML TEAM DETAILS: All riders must register online at Registration costs $30 and each rider must subsequently raise $200. Upon registration, please also sign-up at the front desk and provide your email, so that we can send you updates prior to the ride.
The ride begins and ends at the Temple Ambler campus. It is complete with rest stops and vehicle support. Breakfast and lunch will be offered to all riders on the day of the event.
SCML team tees will also be available for purchase towards the end of May at the front desk.

Our NEW Yoga Studio

Now that our X-Force equipment has moved down from the 3rd floor, we can begin construction on our new, state of the art Yoga studio!! Before you know it, this space will be transformed into a calming, tranquil environment for our SCML Yogis. We anticipate our new studio to open in the beginning of February. We thank you all for your patience during the final phase of our renovation! 

SCML Partnering With Athleta

SCML is partnering with Athleta, one of our favorite athletic apparel brands, to bring our high intensity, effective classes to our members, Athleta fans and the Bryn Mawr community!

Starting Wednesday June 8th, we will be hosting the following classes at Athleta's brand new Bryn Mawr Village location:

Monday 8:30 AM Bootcamp
Wednesday 8:30 AM Bootcamp

Bootcamp is a mix of cardio and strength training, consisting ofweight training, band work and body weight exercises. Every class will be slightly different to keep you on your toes!Instructors will rotate (as will the class schedule long term!), so please make sure to check our website for instructor information!

Also, please note that this class will take the place of the 8:30 AM Bootcamp classes at the Club, for the weekdays listed above. Classes will be held at the address below only:

A Message From Our Owner

Dear Members,

As you are no doubt aware, the first phase of our club renovation is now underway! This project will result in nothing short of a spectacular new facility befitting of the first class staff, equipment and level of service to which you have become accustomed to over the years. These physical improvements are only one facet of our plan to reinvigorate The Sporting Club Main Line as we move forward to our next chapter.

What you know and love about the Club today will remain. We will continue to provide the best, most current and effective personal training, X-force training, Studio classes and state of the art equipment. Our improved facilities will enable our staff to bring you the finest in fitness instruction. Our new Studio offerings will feature better barres for barre classes, a beautiful new spin room that is spacious and modern, and a quiet, serene yoga studio on the third floor. An improved cardio floor will provide easier access to every machine and the strength training equipment will be moving downstairs to make all parts of the gym accessible on one, easy to navigate level. The flow of our gym space will be drastically improved, taking your workout experience to the next level.

We will also be improving other areas of the club including a beautiful new lobby featuring comfortable seating for relaxing before and after your workout and a new lobby Club Café, being unveiled this summer, offering seasonal outdoor seating and a new, healthy and smart menu. Locker rooms will also be completely renovated, providing a beautiful, modernized space for unwinding after classes.

Lastly, we are working hard to bring monthly events and consistent programming to all members. Events will focus on fitness, health and lifestyle topics, with perks for participation. We will also be offering special workshops and fitness programs throughout the year. Going forward you will be receiving this newsletter on a monthly basis to inform you on upcoming events, health and fitness tips, instructors, members and more. We are committed to keeping everyone connected with what is going on at the club and expanding our strong community.

It is very exciting to finally commence construction on this truly transformative project. Our SCML team is excited that this project will allow us to expand our club offerings, elevate the facilities, and continue to bring each of you the best possible health and fitness experience in the area.



Major Redevelopment Plans Underway

We are very excited to share the details of our renovation plans for The Sporting Club Main Line.  A complete upgrade to the facilities, the project will be broken up into several different phases with a final completion date slated for early August 2016.  The club will remain open and operable throughout the whole project with every effort made to minimize interruption to our members' normal routines.

Phase One will occur in the paddle pool area, which will be converted into the new Spin Studio.

Phase Two will be the expansion of our lobby and the addition of a Grand Reception Desk and new Juice Bar with café seating.

Subsequent phases will be in the current cardio and studio areas.

The final phase of the project will be a total renovation of the locker rooms. 

At completion, the entire club will be located on the first floor.  In short, this will be a complete transformation bringing a new, upgraded fitness experience to The Sporting Club Main Line.
